The Stringology Research Workshop will be held Sunday January 4th – January 8th, 2015, at the Dead Sea and Haifa, Israel.
The workshop will include talks by researchers from Israel and abroad on “Stringology” topics of interest, including pattern matching algorithms, algorithms for computational biology, data compression, data structures and other applications of pattern matching algorithms.
Prof. Gad M. Landau Gad M. Landau received his B.S, Ms and Ph.D in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University, Israel. He has worked in the areas of serial and parallel algorithms for problems related to strings, computational biology and data structures. He has published journal papers in several of these areas, and his work has been supported by grants from the NSF, ISF, BSF, IBM, Yahoo and DFG. Currently he is working on cache-oblivious structures, RNA structure alignment and edit distance approximation.
