Call for Participation

Vision, and computational aspects of vision, are multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research areas that many members of our BGU community are involved with, either directly or indirectly. The BGU Vision Day was established as an attempt to bring together these researchers to discuss, share, and exchange ideas in order to facilitate interaction and cross-disciplinary collaboration within the university and as a mean to expose students to the different facets of the field. Following up the last meeting in this series, the third BGU vision day is a symposium of invited talks from computational vision scientists from different Israeli universities where computational vision research takes place.

Although this event includes only invited talks, your participation is very important and we encourage you to distribute this call to faculty and students in your department, center, and/or school. We do ask you to register in order to allow us to estimate the number of participants for proper handling of the logistics.

The 2009 Vision Day will be held on Thursday, November 26, 2009 in the Saal Auditorium (202), the Alon Buiding for Hi-Tech , Dept. of Computer Science, Ben-Gurion University, Israel.

Directions and transportation: If you plan on arriving by car and do not have access to the BGU campus, please make sure to fill in the necessary information in the registration form. A very comfortable way to get to the BGU campus is via train, since there is a train station virtually on campus (a three-minute stroll from the auditorium), and a train arriving/leaving town once an hour. (For schedule see the Israeli Railways web site.) If you do arrive by train, please get off at "Be'er Sheva North/University" station (NOT Be'er Sheva Merkaz) and simply walk over the bridge to the university. At the gate you will see the distinctive Alon Building for Hi-Tech directly ahead of you. The Saal auditorium is on the second floor.
