2. Week 2: Structural vs. Functional analysis of Natural Language - Ambiguity - Representation of meaning - The problem of defining an input for generators
3. Week 3: Bottom-up parsing - Parsing with memoization - general memoization procedure - Parsing with semantic interpretation.
4. Week 4: Introduction to FUF - Role of a syntactic realization component in a complete generator - First grammar encoding.
5. Week 5: Using FUF - grammar encoding, tracing, linearization, morphology.
6. Week 6: Using SURGE - motivation, structure, transitivity, mood, adjuncts and disjuncts.
7. Week 7: Lexical choice - definition, architecture, implementation in FUF, indexicality.
