2011/Spring Advanced seminar in: 3D Modeling in Urban Scenes
Overview
The
acquisition process of three-dimensional digital shape data involves capturing
and modeling of three-dimensional shapes. Such data, typically generated by range
scanners, is at the core of many applications in computer graphics, computer
aided design, visualization, multimedia and other related fields. However,
since range data is always imperfect, various assumptions and approaches are
taken in order to process it.
This seminar will focus on state-of-the-art problems, algorithms and systems in the realm of shape modeling, geometry processing and interactive techniques. Each student is expected to present one paper in class. Presentations should include a limited survey of previous work and technical details.
