Robot Basic Capability Tests
BGU Computer Science Department
In the first part of the semester, you will be required to demonstrate
that you have mastered the skills and have progressed in your work sufficiently
to a hope of performing the required tasks by
the end of the semester.
The results will be tested in weeks 6 and 8 of the semester.
The requirements are:
- Preliminary:
Present a robot with appropriate sensing and locomotion devices installed,
and show that each of them does something. That is:
- Your robot acts under progam control.
- All installed motors move something .
- All sensors are read and affect something else (as a minimum, send
their state to the display).
- Task 1: your robot should move from some random position on the table
(See table description in competition rules) into
either of the jail areas, and stop.
- Task 2: as above, but move to a specific jail area (verified
by reading the bar code).
- Task 3: From the starting position, and with the table as specified,
place a criminal in your jail, and stop.
- Task 4: From your starting area, circumnavigate the table
(either at the table border, or along the black lines). As you perform
the motion, beep when
reaching the oposing jail, and stop as you return to your own jail.
