Name Transliteration to Hebrew

About

Transliteration, or translation by sound, is the process of transferring a word from a source to target language using the pronounciation istead of translation of meaning.
Transliteration is the common method for translating words to Hebrew.
Methods developed for other languages use long lists of pairs of words in the source and target langauages to learn the rules of transliteration.
Our method is based on lists of names in each langauge without pairs extracted from Wikipedia and Facebook.
Our method takes into account the fact that names which originate from different langauges are transcribed differently in the target langauge (for example Hebrew names such as "Yair", or "Yael" will be transcribed back into their Hebrew form and not according to English pronunciation).

The pipeline:
Name Transcribed in Latin -> Langauge Identification (Hebrew/Arab/English origin) -> Pronunciation (For English only, using CMU LOGIOS) -> Transliteration (many possibilities) -> Filter Language N-Gram Model -> Results
