Daniel Aron ALPAY

Earl Katz Family chair in algebraic system theory

Welcome to my homepage:

A one day conference entitled

A day of operator theory

will take place on January 19, 2010. The homepage of the conference is here.

A two day conference on stochastic analysis and financial mathematics took place at Ben-Gurion University on December 2 and 3, 2008. Here is the homepage of the conference.

I am the editor-in-chief of a new journal, entitled:

Complex Analysis and Operator Theory,

published by Birkhauser. Papers should be submitted via the Online Manuscript Submission, Review and Tracking System of the journal.

If you accessed my homepage to download some of my papers, you can proceed directly to here.

  • Present position: Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Full Professor since November 97).

  • A few academic facts : After highschool at the Lycée Voltaire and the École Yavné, Paris (Here is the link to the Association des anciens élèves.), two years of Mathématiques supérieures and Mathématiques Spéciales at the Lycée Louis-Le-Grand. Then, I graduated in 78 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications. Here is the link to the Association des anciens élèves. I did my PhD thesis at the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute under the supervision of Harry Dym.

  • Research Interests:

My current research interests may be divided into four main directions:

    1) Schur analysis, in particular in the indefinite setting.

    2) System theory and character-automorphic functions

    3) Inverse problems for differential and difference operators with rational scattering functions.

    4) Stochastic analysis, in particular in the white noise space setting.

    5) Operator theory and Riemann surfaces.

More can be found on my research interests in my book: Algorithme de Schur, espaces à noyau reproduisant et théorie des systèmes. Panoramas et Synthèses, volume 6, Société mathématique de France (1998).
