To celebrate Saharon Shelah's recent wins, Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev is organizing two events: a one day Conference, and a week long
Workshop.
The conference will be held on May 21, 2001 at the senate hall at Ben-Gurion
University. The program
of the conference includes six plenary talks, an Inauguration Ceremony
of the new Center for Advanced Studies in Mathematics, and finally, a lecture
by Shelah himself.
The workshop will start on Sunday, May 20, and continue until Friday,
May 25. Morning sessions will include mini
courses on various topics related to Shelah's work. The afternoon sessions
will be devoted to contributed talks.
On Sunday, May 20, the afternoon session will be devoted to the annual
Logic Session of the
Israel Mathematical
Union.
